SWEET CHILI SAUCE
This sauce works well for fried chicken, lumpia (eggrolls), or fried shrimp Check out my coconut shrimp or lumpia recipe!
FOR THE SAUCE:
Orange/Apricot Base
G Hughes has a Sugar Free Orange Ginger marinade or you can use an orange or apricot sugar free jam Nature’s Hollow
Chili Paste
Sambal Oelek (if you don’t have this on hand, you can use Sriracha to give your sauce the kick/spice/heat)
Sweetener (optional)
2-3 drops of liquid sweetener if you want ‘sweeter’ (I prefer to use liquid stevia drops so it mixes well)
I have used different combos of the above- sometimes all together (combining the Orange Ginger Marinade or using only the Sugar Free Jam)- adjust to your consistency and liking of spice/sweetness.
