FRIED CALAMARI RINGS

I can never get enough of seafood and if it’s fried, even better!!!

I have tried to air fry these (I’ve risked airfrying them and easily overcooked them so they became too rubbery/chewy and just hard). If you air fry them, they just don’t come out how they should. If you have the option, I’d suggest to deep fry them.

Don’t be intimidated by these, they’re super easy to make and you’ll feel like you’ve ordered these from a restaurant.

INGREDIENTS:

10 oz bag of calamari rings - I’m sure if you find a pound bag this will work too!

1 tsp garlic lovers seasoning from FlavorGod

1 tsp lemon & garlic seasoning from FlavorGod (If you don’t have these exact seasonings; use anything garlic, lemon pepper, creole, cajun seasoning)

1/2 cup baconsheir pork panko (crushed up pork rinds)

1/4 cup whey protein isolate (the secret in making this super crispy!)

1 egg

  1. Make sure calamari rings are defrosted. Give calamari an egg wash or just leave all rings in small bowl with a scrambled egg.

2. Mix all dry ingredients above in a separate bowl.

3. Coat calamari ring with breading mix.

4. Fry in avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy!

SPICY GARLIC AIOLI SAUCE:

No real measurements here but just mixed up some : mayonnaise, garlic powder, sriracha (adjust to your spiciness level) and a few squirts of fresh squeezed lemon.
